We are currently seeking a permanent part-time (currently 32 hours per week) High Visibility Loss Prevention Officer to support Woolworths Flemington and Woolworths North Melbourne.  This role will work on a fixed roster Tuesday to Saturday and hourly rates are aligned to Level 5 of the Security Services Award.

This permanent part-time opportunity offers a dynamic and rewarding experience at a major Woolworths store. Your primary objective will be to deter theft, prevent loss, and support a safe shopping environment for both staff and customers all in a high visibility capacity.

This role will suit trained coverts who wish to transition in to a traditional deterrent focused high engagement role without the risk of conducting arrests.

Key responsibilities:

• Patrol store floors, loading docks, and critical access zones with a covert presence.
• Conduct discreet visual surveillance to identify and deter theft, shoplifting, and suspicious activity.
• Respond swiftly to incidents, supporting emergency response and de-escalation as appropriate.
• Support compliance with Woolworths and CONSTANT’s operational, safety, and security protocols.
• Provide professional and respectful assistance to Woolworths staff, customers, and delivery teams during peak times.
• Accurately complete electronic shift, incident, and compliance reports.
• Operate advanced CCTV systems.
• Liaise with management, emergency services, and security teams as needed.
• Uphold the values of Integrity, Community, Collaboration, Excellence, and Innovation at all times.

What are we looking for?

• Experience in retail loss prevention, security, logistics, or high-value asset protection is highly desirable.
• Current state or territory security licence (e.g., VIC, NSW, QLD, TAS, WA, SA).
• Nationally accredited First Aid and CPR certification.
• Proficiency with CCTV, electronic access control, and incident reporting procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A strong sense of personal responsibility, with the ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
• Ability to obtain or maintain additional checks as needed (e.g., Responsible Service of Alcohol, Working with Children Check).
