CONSTANT is seeking Resident Support Officers to join our overnight team within student accommodation residences. This role reflects a modern, people-first approach to safety - prioritising wellbeing, respect, and community support alongside traditional security responsibilities.

About the Role

As a Resident Support Officer, you’ll be a calm, approachable, and trusted presence for students after hours. You’ll play a key role in supporting student wellbeing, responding to concerns, and helping maintain a safe and welcoming community.

Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time
Roster: Thursday to Sunday
Shifts: Overnight

Pay Rates on PPT basis:

• Weekdays: $35.08 per hour

• Saturday: $43.29 per hour

• Sunday: $57.72 per hour

• Public Holidays: $72.15 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Provide after-hours support to students in residence

• Respond to wellbeing concerns with empathy and professionalism

• Conduct visible, non-enforcement-focused walkthroughs

• Assist with lockouts, enquiries, and access to facilities

• Coordinate with emergency or on-call services when required

• Complete incident reports and maintain system updates

• Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment

• Liaise with university and residential life teams

• Confident using basic systems and completing written reports

• Community services, allied health, education, youth work, student support, multicultural services, hospitality, or customer service backgrounds (with a valid licence)

Essential Requirements

• Current QLD Security Licence (mandatory)

• Working with Children check (Blue card - must have or willing to obtain one)

• Availability to work overnight shifts

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Professional and approachable manner

• First Aid & CPR

• RSA

• Willingness to undertake Mental Health First Aid and Trauma-Informed Care training
